Historically rich with strategic importance, Raffles Place was the birthplace of Singapore’s commercial development. Today, it is the country’s premier business district featuring some prominent landmark buildings.
In 2019, 10 founding stakeholders in Raffles Place came together to form the Raffles Place Alliance, as part of the pilot Business Improvement District (BID) programme by Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), with the aim of taking on a more active role in transforming Raffles Place and the supporting public space.
Through dynamic events and activities, Raffles Place Alliance will bring the precinct’s heritage story to life, creating more vibrancy for the working community and making it a must-see destination while energising the district.
