Snap selfies with the statues in the park

Dotted within Raffles Place Park and around Raffles Place are 11 sculptures and art installations that make for terrific picture-taking spots. One such spot is Tan Wee Lit’s All the Essentially Essential, an interactive installation of stainless steel made to resemble a giant model toy kit. Satirising our struggle for better work-life balance, this piece incorporates elements of a hectic lifestyle with commonplace items such as gym bags and even a baby stroller.

In one corner of the sprue frame there is an opening with footholds where one can stand and pose for photos. Step into frame to complete the kit and be part of this artwork!

Ocean Financial Centre’s mossy exterior

Ever noticed the interesting patch of greenery on the facade of Ocean Financial Centre?  This 3D moss-like wall once held the Guinness World Records title for being the largest vertical garden in the world.

Consisting of 57,000 plants shaped to look like a three dimensional world map that delineates Singapore and Southeast Asia, this 19 metre tall and 110 metre wide wall is a marvellous piece of green engineering that many in the past have flocked to see with their own eyes and immortalise on camera for its sheer size (it’s roughly the size of eight tennis courts put together)!
